My phalaenopsis was sunburned and I need help!
Hello!
I recently acquired a phalaenopsis of unknown breed from someone at my job, and I messed up hardcore!
Knowing nothing about orchid, I left it out in the sun for a few days about a week ago. The the damaged, exposed parts of the leaves began to turn yellow-green and became somewhat squishy.
Following the American Orchid Society's advice videos, I cut the bad parts of the leaves off using sterile instruments.
I've had it for almost two weeks and have watered it once. The sphagnum is a little moist, but the top is dry, I don't know if it has rotting roots or what.
The new leaf is still growing, so I take it as a good sign. But I don't know what to do!
Your advice would be most appreciated. I would post a link to a picture but the forum denies it every time.
Here is an album, excuse the spam filter bypassing. imgur[.]com/a/1jdTz#0
