I plan on growing them in my large orchidarium and would eventually like to have them mounted, but I will let them be for now. The ebay listing said they came from Japan to the WOC where someone purchased a few to many and was selling them for a friend on ebay. The seller had a decent rating and with one adult beverage to many, I figured what the heck! I just love the size of these and could easily get hooked on them....hopefully I won't have to wait too long to see blooms! Oh...and one other question, if the tag they came with just has the variation name hand written on them, can I still enter them into a show someday down the road?

Becca,
You are soooo much fun! I am so glad you are here. I am enjoying learning all about orchids and orchidariums with you and the OB gang!
I''ve got to know where did you find them on Ebay? All I have found are the standard ones. . .which are very nice but not super exciting.
I've got my heart set on buying ONE special one at New World Orchids. I've emailed the seller asking for help picking just one in my price range. OMG, there are some expensive ones there. . .I am having sticker shock. . .so it might have to be a SEEDLING or some such. LOL I LOVE the tiger striped ones and the variegated ones. Wonder what I'll end up with? LOL Will post pics of course.

Hi Gwen! I have a lot of fun with you and the OB gang as well! I will admit that after these two....I won't be buying much other then the project plant and a travel companion...lol. I probably paid to much for them as I get carried away with being competitive on ebay. I don't think the seller has any more listed for sale....the person had a bunch all for sale at once....it was crazy watching the bidding! I got lucky by .30 cents on one...lol. Anyways....I can contact the seller for you and see if they have any more left....my favorite out the two is the variegated one. The sellers member id on ebay is Icepengwyn. I am overall very pleased with the quality of the plants, the shipping was fast, and the customer service....the person was quick to respond with any questions I had. I looked at New World Orchids during my bidding wars and saw the prices as well...so I think I paid about what was average....but some people got a way with some great deals on the bids compared to some of the prices New World Orchids has listed. Keep us posted on what you get!

Many thanks, Becca. I've sent him an email.
I LOVE the two Neofinetias you picked! But do especially admire the variegated one.
You did good!

All of you are the biggest bunch of enablers I've ever met!! I sure hope that I New World is coming to one of the shows in England this year, that's all I have to say. I'd love to get one of those variegated ones....
Gwen, make sure you let us know which one you get!
... and I definitely want to see photos if you repot them - and of course, when they flower, Becca!!

Allen, I am not sure where exactly you are visiting as you refer "Central Japan". If you can go to Shizuoka pref. ( west of Tokyo), you will find some "Neo" growers.
I found this list. http://www.fuukiran.net/ You might give this list to your friend (?) in Japan, he/she might be able to coordinate it for you.
p.s. I do not live in Japan, but can read it.

Have fun in Japan. Be sure to visit Shibuya, Tokyo and take a look at the intersection for a few min.
A taste of the food in general is bit different from Tokyo to Osaka/Kyoto. I was raised in Osaka side of Japan. When I moved to Tokyo, the food itself has lighter taste.
