To answer your media question, you can use whatever media you want (I order mine from Phytotech...it's easier). For multiplication, just add coconut milk to the media......the more you add, the more they will multiply. They will keep multiplying, as long as they are in the media.

I remember once I do it with coconut milk the fat from it split and float on the surface. Are you sure it coconut milk? Sorry I'm just a beginner, I get confuse very easily.

It's mainly the water that you need, but I use milk, too...it doesn't hurt anything.
