A Few More Attempts at Creativeness
|
First one is really nice. The positioning of a pin light makes it look like its glowing. Nicely done.
Second - I dont really like the shadows on the flower - it dilutes color. Perhaps if shadows would be stronger it would create nice contrast between lightness of blossom and darkness making the color and texture stand out more. I like the third picture - very nice composition and shows color and texture of flowers very nice. Like you say in your blog structured lines in the background make contrast with blossoms. Also the structural background draws viewer's attention more than organic background. Sorry for long critique but you asked for it in your blog. So here you go ;) |
I can't say anything as to how they are from a photography point of view, but like the previous ones you posted I think they are just WOW!! I especially like the masdie, it looks like light is coming out of the bloom.
I'd say to carry on with what you're doing, you're getting some amazing shots! I think I prefer creative photos like this more than the standard orchid 'portraits'. |

I really like the first one and agree with your reasoning not to crop it. The flower has an almost alien look.
The second is okay but I think I agree with Anisa about the shadows diluting the flower color. Don't really care for the 3rd. The idea is appealing as is the positioning. However the picture itself does not appeal to me for some reason I can't quite put my finger on. I think perhaps it is the actual colors involved. Keep shooting, Ron! I do enjoy seeing your creativity in photography. :) |

Ron, you are inspiring!
I actually like the second one- I think it worked well, although perhaps the flowers themselves could have been lighter. You could try using curves in PS. |

First one is a favorite. Composition, lighting, and color seem to be nicely balanced.
While the point about the paleness of the main subject in photo two is a valid concern, I do like the composition of the flower contrasted with the muted background. Picture three is a bit too busy. How do you set up your lighting? |
