While the point about the paleness of the main subject in photo two is a valid concern, I do like the composition of the flower contrasted with the muted background.

Picture three is a bit too busy.

How do you set up your lighting?

I use nothing fancy for lighting. I have a stand with two reflectors and lights that I use in different positions. Along with that I use a Litedisc reflector and a small flashlight for reducing shadows, highlighting, etc.
