Yes. Parsley is a biennial. As you know, biennials flower the second year, set seed, and die. If you want to try to fool it into growing another year, you can cut off the flowers.

i liked this Brass. yellow star in silhouette

and this was a total shock..i got this Dichaea longea at the Miami show and it was in poor shape and quite dehydrated...well this teeny, tiny flower appeared. i am quite ignorant about this Genus and i bought it bc it was there and i had never seen anything like it and it was not expensive ( the deadly Bermuda triangle of orchid purchasing)

Orchidbro, you mentioned that your Nobiles were behind mine...it is really odd, all the Nobiles on the south side of my house are just at this phase, the ones in the lath house are in full bloom and the one in the mango tree on the west side is really confused....one cane with fully open flowers and the one right next to it just forming buds??

I liked the way this spike on the Hausserman shows like a time lapse of the closed bud to the open one.

That rescue vanda root growth looks great and yes, Kelpmax is a blessing for root development. Yes, my two den. nobile haven't bloomed yet but almost there. I would say two more weeks until open. I actually have a lot chids budding right now and my Encyclia cochleata (I think the correct name for it now is Prosthechea cochleata) just opened yesterday. Those catts look wonderful as well and should put on a great show, well, one already is.

Here is one of my Den. nobiles. This is one of my oldest orchids as I have had it for over 8 years now. Last year after it finished blooming I repotted it into a bigger container.

Dollythehun 02-03-2020 10:20 AM

That's a monster!

OrchidBro 02-03-2020 10:32 AM

Thank you! It is definitely my biggest orchid and quite unruly but I don't mind. It is very happy hanging on my patio in full sun year round.
