Den. aberrans with spherical pseudobulbs? Male
Default

Good question! I have some aberrans hybrids with such p-bulbs, when they are still small. Later they do elongegate. As aberrans can be very dominant in flower form, the foto may be a hybrid. Of course, the Latourias are currently very popular and there are new collections of less typical forms. That could, also, be part of the puzzle. In strong light the p-bulbs tend to get shorter, but I've not yet seen (maybe I just have!), such globous bulbs on this or any other Latouria in cultivation. There are a few similar species, which may have created such a hybrid. I know, this doesn't anser the question, just shows some of the possibilities .
