That surprises me. Vanda's come from really wet areas. Surely they in the wild they experience water in the crown for days. I probably have 15 Vanda and I haven't experienced this with any other. But your plant is very beautiful. It's tempting to try a third time.

What a beautiful Vanda! I'm not sure how well they'll do here, but Andy's orchids said that V. coerulea grows well outdoors here, so I got one to try. Plus, that was one I'd always wanted when I was told it was too hot to grow them (when I lived in Houston). If I'm successful with this one, I'll probably try others of the cooler growing types, or hybrids with coerulea. Also, the coeruleas blooming at Andy's had such huge flowers on such tiny plants! I'd never imagined the plants were so small from having only looked at photos before.
