New growth, but what is it?

I repotted right after I got it. That picture was right after I watered it this morning. It has a lot of charcol in the mix so it's a bit darker. But it is new. The old stuff was really nasty and almost all gone when I bought it.

probably no reason to repot then - I wouldn't worry about the exposed roots so long as they are hydrated - they look good if you have trouble keeping them hydrated you could top with a small amount of sphag
