That is stunning! I have one catt in S/H and 2 that are in bark. The 2 that are in bark, I would like to convert to S/H, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't just pot them up in LECA in a clay pots like you have done. No waiting for "the right time" to convert, which I tend to struggle with (I'm still pretty new to S/H).

Quick question for you, tucker85 - How often do you water?

I live in south Florida and I grow my orchids outdoors. This a sub-tropical climate and it can rain every day during the summer some years. Bark was a disaster for me. With Hydroton there's no real fear of overwatering but if it's not raining I need to water more often than I did with bark (three times a week during the summer). My experience is mostly with Cattleyas and they do extremely well. I think s/h would probably be ideal for Phals because they like some moisture all the time but I have not tried it.
