Transferring My Phals. To S/H!! Female
Smile Transferring My Phals. To S/H!!

I have decided to transferring most of my phals. to s/h. The only ones I'm keeping as is are my Phal. Dutch Lady 'Ice Cloud', which is in spike and potted in a glazed pot with medium bark mix, and my Phal. Stuartiana & Phal. Amabilis 'Olympic Beauty' compots.

The ones being transferred are the following:
*Phal. Mini Mark 'Holm'
*Phal. Stuartiana Species
*Phal. Mount Kaala x [Phal. Tinny Ivory x Phal. Yukimai] x [Dtps. Orglade's Puff x P. Paul Tartar]
*Dtps. Hausermann's Cloud
*My mother's unidentified white Phal.

I already ordered my s/h sets from First Ray's and I started adding some K-L-N rooting solution to the orchids so they'll have new roots ready. I made this decision because I need a headache-free care regime. I don't want to constantly worry about over-watering or root rot and repotting will be much easier with the s/h method. I just hope my orchids like the new environment and thank me later with lots of healthy blooms. And it will be easier for my mother to care for her orchid with the "fool proof" instructions.

I bought some more orchids and had a small worm problem with the Sharry Baby 'Sweet Fragrance' compot I received. I decided to put a hold on transferring my Phals. to s/h and do an emergency repotting on the Sharry Baby in s/h, after soaking it in Physan 20. I also repotted a Phal. Philippinense that was shipped in the same package. I'm also going to repot my mother's unidentified white Phal (I think it's a generic moth orchid), but that will take a while because it was originally tightly packed in moss and there's a lot of damage to the root system. I still having soaking to loosen the moss off the roots.

I'm going to try to go back to my original plan of transferring my other Phals. to s/h tomorrow, if not next weekend. I will keep you posted.
