Default physics question concerning light

Hi there,
I came across an interesting physics fact yesterday.
I heard that 2 amplifiers will make 4 times more sound than one,
3 amplifiers 9 times etc., always exponentially.
Apparently it's because sound waves resonate (or something, i forgot the right term) with one another.

now, i was wondering if the same principle applies to light waves? once i'll add another lighting fixture will i get four times more light?

, Light exhibits a wave like nature and a particle like nature. Not sure if it would amplify. Perhaps if the two lightsources were traveling at the same wavelength they would create constructive interference and amplify their magnitude?
Don't know, I haven't had physics since 2003.

it would be important to have the same type of tubes rather than one warm white and one cool white right?
let's see if we have any physics majors or equivalent here..

i don't remember learning about light multiplying in any physics classes.

sound can multiply *and* cancel itself out when there are multiple sources, depending on the pattern coming from the amplifier and the positions of each.

science rules.
