Interesting. I got a bunch of seedlings and small back bulbs. They are all potted in loose moss and sitting in fertiliser solution. So far so good.

when you say 'sitting' in a solution, do you mean the loose moss is soaked in a fertilizer solution? I think the growers did that in order that the plants will not dry from shipping. Upon receiving the plant you have to repot it in fresh sphagnum moss and fine fir bark= this work well as potting mixes for these. Let it dry before watering again or you will suffer rot.

Well, there they are in the tray, sitting inn half an inch of fert soln so that it wicks up to the roots, tho already several have roots coming out of the bottom of the pots and into the solution.
I got lazy with them when they were in the saucers and I had to keep emptying the saucers, and then I thought 'Oh screw it.' and I put them in the tray.

I have heard people say that catasetum rots shouldn't dry out when they are growing. Any info tho is always gratefully received.
