This is a Vanda hybrid on vase culture 20 inches tall with a 2 ft. leaf span and 3 ft. root length.
The roots are robust and growing everywhere so the best thing for it is contained in a large vase that is filled with water every other day soaking the plant for 15 min. with Algoflash fertilizer alternated weekly with seaweed mix and worm tea mix. This is located on the south facing windowsill.
The flowers are five inches big newly opened so it will need time to right itself and flatten some more and maybe change color….I will take pictures again in a week

Very well done, Bud! Vandas on a windowsill and in vase culture. That's got to be a first.

Thank You, Ron !
No its not a first...in fact it is from other members that gave me the idea. I think it was Vandagirl who first posted about vase culture of her Vandas.

That's a beauty Bud. I am still waiting for my coerulea to spike but she is putting out roots and a new leaf so I must be doing something right :)

Awsome vanda!

What a beauty! good growing!
I have some in vase culture but I find it difficult to know how often to soak them. Vanda girl soaks hers once a week but we both found that seedlings need it more often. Also, it is very humid where she is, so that makes a difference. I have mine in baskets and have added a little sphag, which helps me to know when they are dry. Here it is humid in the winter and dry in the summer.
