Orchids on trees
7 Attachment(s)
I grow several of my purpuratas on trees in a more natural way. Here are some of them that are in flower now:
Laelia lobata alba, L. purpurata caerulea, L. lobata concolor and the shade house in the background partially seen, L. purpurata estriata caerulea, L. purpurata, Laelias and L. purpurata rosada. |
They look amazing, Mauro! :cloud9:

Very lovely, Mauro! Must be wonderful to live in the appropriate conditions instead of having to create them!

Agree, Shirley! They do very well in natural conditions!

Great growing!
Mauro, do your add some moss around the bases of these orchids or just grow them bare roots? |
I have some Dendrobiums and a few ryn. growing on a mango tree. I don't use moss at all.... Have been using shade cloth though.... Is good for the plant to breathe and get the moisture out of the air, also it's good for not letting the plants stay too wet for too long.

They're just fantastic, Mauro. Thanks for sharing your babies with us.

Beautiful Mauro. Nothing beats orchids on trees in my opinion. I wanted to plant more trees in my front yard since it's the only room I have left but my wife insists we need the space for cars and visitors? go figure.

As much as I appreciate a well grown potted orchid, there is simply nothing like one doing what it does best, naturally!
