Default my dachshund assistants

By popular demand (and who can argue with the moderator?!?!) I'm posting pictures of my gardening "assistants" - my dachshunds.

Bailey is a long-haired, shaded English cream dachshund and he's just 7 months old now. He *loves* to help me garden by digging up things and bringing them into the house for me to look at. I've had an interesting crop of tulips, bamboo, sod, weeds (gasp), rose bushes, and bark dragged in. Not looking forward to when the snakes come out.

Ozzie is the baby. He's 4 months old now. He's a long-haired black and tan dapple. He's completely crazy. He will take on, dig up, or pounce on anything in the yard but he's the most cuddly of them all. He is bound and determined to catch a bird and I'm sure that by the end of the summer that little guy will do it.

Sienna is my 11 year "grumpy old woman", black and tan dachshund. She couldn't care less about tearing anything up as long as you remember to give her some of the fish food before you feed the koi.

Of all the dogs, Bailey is in love with gardening - especially if it involves water, bark, or mud! I was soaking some cork last evening for some mounts and by the time I shut off the hose and turned back to the bucket of water he'd dragged them out of the bucket, into the house, and under my bed! Yeah, I rescued them and they are now hung *high* with orchids mounted on them.

Now the bedroom smells like wet cork and dog.

So, between having to rescue my plants (not the orchids - they stay up and out of the way), throwing the tennis balls a few hundred times, and vacuuming the house a few times a night, it's amazing that I am getting *any* gardening done this year.

But isn't that the point?!?!

awww. they're adorable. im a huge animal lover. i live in a zoo. i do not however appreciate our aussie mix when she attempts to help me garden. she airates, cultivates, fertilizes, and eats bulbs faster than the squirrels. but sometimes its just too funny. i wouldn't be without them!

A great intro to some wonderful pets .. Thanks for posting your cuties
Your story had me chuckling
I have never seen a doxie as blonde as your Bailey .. What a beauty
Ozzie the puppy is too precious
and Sienna has every right to be 'grumpy' at 11 years old .. I'm sure she has earned it ..
She even posed and smiled for the photo!
They are all adorable!

How adorable! They sound like a lot of fun. I had a dachshund when I was a kid. She also liked to "help" with the garden. Sometimes we would see her running around the yard with a big cucumber in her mouth.
