Update.
These made it through Winter storage. I was surprised that they all are growing as some of the bulbs were a little soft and I thought had started to rot. They are really tough - these were planted in full sun about 10 days ago.
Storage - wrapped individually in paper towels and I then sprayed the container and towels with Lysol.

Really cool!

I have a seed pot developing on mine just now and I'm contemplating seeing if I can grow them from seed. Glad to see you've had some success.

my folks - in the Southern Hemisphere, and can grow these outdoors year round - bloomed one of my seedlings out. It did bloom true to Apple Blossom. I don't know what that proves or disproves ! One swallow doesn't make a Summer ?

so I harvested the bulbs and they are all snug in the basement.
The parent just bloomed. I have other amaryllis and this is my favourite - 5 blooms per stalk, just the right height and sturdy.

Candy Floss??
Beautiful Pink.
How are your seedlings doing?

I would grow them year round to help them reach mature size faster, rather than giving them a break, if things allow you to do so.
Given the size of those leaves, they are getting very close.

My Ambiance is back in bloom.
I'm waiting on my Grand Diva (what a name!) to open, and my Show Master to spike.
I would love to have a greenhouse just for Amaryllis.
I love them! only wish they lasted longer in bloom.

Variety is Apple Blossom.
Unfortunately I don't have the space to grow them on in Winter.....except for the mother plant that always starts spiking after about 3 weeks from being dug up.
I had another one that I bought - supposedly a purple - but was just a dark red. The spike was double the length and had to be supported. I prefer the shorter spike on the Apple Blossom, and yep...it does remind me too of candy. I just wish that these were scented too.

its definitely Apple Blossom. Seems like it varies from mostly white to a lot more pink, judging from internet photos.
Pink Amaryllis, 8" Amaryllis Flowers, Large Amaryllis Bulbs, Appleblossom
The seedlings from the selfing - well 2 that my folks bloomed out - one was my Apple Blossom and the other had even more pink in the throat.

just noticed a 3rd spike/stem on my amaryllis. I will take photos, but I have never seen or heard of this before...........take that back. Martha Stewart says if you are lucky, you can get a 3rd stem. Guess I am lucky, must be the year for me to strike it rich on the lottery.
