Yea, it forms large mats on open places, and is really really eye catching when the sun is out. You can't miss it.

The Veronica persica is so sweet!
Not in my garden, but out on a walk we came across this just a few days ago. Never seen it before, there was also another wild-flower but I've not sorted the picture yet (will try in a few days). Both spring flowering though
Anyone know what it is?

No idea as of yet. Presume bulb type, but wasn't going to disturb it You never know.
And (woot to a little spare time) here's the other Unknown little gem we saw a few days ago. Carpet like habit as shown in the second picture. Quite a small flower only a few centimeters or so in size. Growing on a slope in a wooded area.
EDIT: I now believe this one is Anemone nemorosa Anemone nemorosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As promised, here are a few more snaps of what's out in the garden (re: previous post - spurge isn't quite out yet, so no pics of that yet)
Since I started the last set with the ladybirds, I thought I wold start this set with a picture of the first comma butterfly in the garden Always great to have butterflies around
Then, we have:
Celandine x2
Comfrey
Cowslip
Elephant Ears (or heart leaf bergenia)
Flowering currant
Forsythia
Heartease
.... and finally, what I think is
blue Star of Bethlehem x2 |

Ooops, forgot the cowslip! it doesn't want to load at the moment so I'll try and pop it in this post later
Edit: Finally got it to load one of the photos! (annoyingly, it wasn't the better one but the other just wouldn't load up!)
