Good afternoon everyone

I'll have to post my latest pics in two parts and my camera~computer link isn't behaving! So, to start off, here are some pictures of my lilac trees and one of my epimediums (from above and below!). To me, when the lilac trees come out, it's a sign that summer's starting, and with 4 big trees in the garden, the days are nicely fragrant at the moment

Also, there's a picture of a chive flower and a rosemary in flower surrounded by something I can't remember the name of! (since herbs have been under-represented so far)

Ha ha, got there in the end!

In order, we should have:
Primula, Bluebell, some aquilegia (x3) and germander speedwell (which is all over the place, this picture is from under the washing line). To end are a couple I don't know the names of - the first I thought was a corn cockle, but looking at google, it isn't! The second, I haven't a clue, so any thoughts would be appreciated!

Edit - the speedwell doesn't want to load, so I'll try again later!

Woo Hoo, finally managed it in a separate post! Who would have thought that such a tiny flower could cause so much hassel!

Some stuff that has bloomed in the last two weeks.

Erythronium americanum -- Trout Lily or Adder's Tongue
Claytonia virginica -- Spring Beauty

Anemone quinquefolia -- Anemone

Alliaria petiolata -- Its an aggressive invasive alien that takes over very quickly. Smells like garlic too.

Default Spring in the Appalachians

So as some of you know, I went to the Appalachians for the Easter weekend. I counted around 50 genera of plants (not all in flower) in only 5 1/2 acres. I posted the four wild orchids I found (two in bloom) in Wild Orchids forum.
Here I will post all the non orchid stuff.

This trip taught me how much I don't know.

Let start with the Violets, lots of them
I think these are common violets Viola sororia

Maybe this Missouri violet, Viola missouriensis

My first time seeing a yellow violet, Viola pubescens

Sweet white violet, Viola blanda

Bird foot violet, was in bud, Viola pedata

Viola hastata, also in bud

NOID violet.

White Clintonia in bud, Clintonia umbellulata

Flowering dogwood, Cornus floridus

Southern Spicebush, Calycanthus floridus

Silverbells, Halesia caroliniana

Bluets, Houstonia caerulia

Stargrass, Hypoxis hirsuta

The azaleas were out

Spotted geranium, Geranium maculatum

Wood Anemone, Anemone quinquefolia

Mountain Anemone, Anemone lancifolia

Hooked buttercup, Ranunculus recurvatus

Star chickweed, Stellaria pubera

Solomons seal, Polygonatum biflorum

Foam flower, Tiarella cordifolia

Miterwort, Mitella diphylla

Toothwort, Cardamine diphylla

Some grass with pollen oozing out!!
