I could NOT work with my African Violets anymore and could not find a home and in a fit of stress with so much to DO, I sadly threw them away. Sigh. I feel just awful. Horrible.
Yet also relieved. I won't buy any ever again so as not to murder any more. And I have room and less to water and I don't have a whole entire shelf of the SAME exact looking plant.....

Want the good news? I couldn't BEAR to leave the trash bag sitting in my house. I didn't want to be reminded. So right away I gathered the trash and started to the dumpster. My husband came home right at that time, drove right past his parking place and stopped to carry the trash for me!! Awwww

He was very pleased I ditched the AVs.
He's also quite prepared to help me obtain my fall / winter set up needs - which won't be as bad as I feared and will include large metal shelves that will hold my whole collection.... My promise to myself is to not shop. I can't promise I won't buy more orchids, but I'm avoiding much of my temptation. And I've had so many come in in the past 2 weeks, I've got to stop somewhere! I am getting in over my head....

Tikva, We forgive you sweetie I have had my share of poopie AV's such a tempermental but gorgeous bloomed plant. ... illusion of self-control I like that .. NOT
