I have seen Steve Martin live twice - the Steve Martin Mull Review when I was in college and the Steve Martin Short Review before leaving Philly, but there was no interaction. As to the others:

1) I sat next to Haig on flights from CHS>ATL and ATL>TPA. SOB wouldn't even acknowledge a "hello".

2) My dad was stationed at the US Embassy in London for a few years (ages 10-12 for me), and his boss was Najeeb Halaby, later president of PanAm. His daughter, Lisa, and I played together when there were cocktail parties. She later became Noor. Damn I wish I had kept in contact with her...

3) Also while in England, when the Beatles were just becoming big, through a multi-person connection (boyfriend of the sister of a school friend), I got to go to a publicity luncheon with them and about 20 other kids - we were the age group they were seeking at the time.

5) When I was a student at Ga Tech, Jimmy Carter was the governor, and he an I carried on a mail conversation over energy conservation for a short while after he did a TV speech telling us to conserve, and I pointed out that in Buckhead, where the Governor's Mansion was, there were gas lights operating right under mercury street lamps - so didn't he think that was a bit of a waste?
Your guess of Cleavon Little is wrong. Blazing Saddles Sherrif. I will share later how I knew him.

1. Al Dimeola
2. David Blaine
3. George Thorogood
4. Alan Holdsworth
5. Steve Vai
I am guessing Steve Vai.\ However, we are of a different era Subrosa.
I dont recognize any of your names. I grew up during the Woodstock era, sadly did not go and now I only remember Classic Rock bands, Have seen Lionell Richie and Tina Turner in1980s LA Concert, Leonard Cohen, At UCLA 1968, when I only knew his song Suzanne, and The Eagles, When Hell freezes over Concert in the 1990s. And at UCLA in the 60s Segovia....that really impressed me when I finally figured out who he was/ Love Spanish Guitar.

Steve Vai is correct. I saw him perform at the Chestnut but didn't get the chance to meet him.
I sat down and had a Guinness with Alan Holdsworth before his show at the Chestnut.
I got a thank you from Al Dimeola for letting him in to do his show. I was standing by a fire door and someone started knocking. I thought someone might be trying to sneak in, so I eased on over, made sure the coast was clear and opened the door. In strides Al Dimeola carrying a guitar case, he thanks me and said he wasn't sure if he was going to get to play or not!
George Thorogood I met out back of the Kenwood Tavern, before he hit the big time. My friend and I got in with fake IDs, saw the show, and afterwards went around back to engage in a bit of illegal inhalation therapy. George and the band came out the door, nearly scaring us to death, and said that something smelled good. So we all engaged in a bit of therapy!

I don't think I can play. I'll have to think hard about this, but I'm pretty sure I have not met four famous people.
