Proposal for a subsection on the "Pests & Diseases"

I think the problem with this would be that what some people consider 'natural' is not considered natural by others. For example I happily use a copper strip to try and discourage slugs... is that natural or not... I consider it is.

I think this is the point that David is making and trying to split this out would be too difficult to keep everyone happy about what went in each section.

A "partial help" could came from products considered biologic from some authorities on various Countries (UE,USA,etc.).
Similar list could be regarded as a point of departure and don't arrival because we all know that certain decisions are partly influenced by lobbyists.
Naturally this may lead to a debate but as soon remains correct and respectful may well become an opportunity to see if other countries are given more environmentally friendly solutions for the same problems.

Use copper strip as trap is a different matter rathern then use it over a plant. The impact is zero, so, yes, it's important even on which way is used a system.
However, for that problem, I usually hear about using the normal beer, so the slugs are attracted by the smell and then die drowned.

Just a thought

A strong point of the forum is the exchange of knowledge but without a system to be able to organize information, that information end up scattered.
The main object consist on find a way for avoid it.
I believe that both these systems, sub section and sticky, aren't mutually exclusive, but a sticky system require more work from moderators for taken it update, and often happen that end only on a long list of topic that speak about a certain arguments, so the users should read each single topic for find an informations, while when i think about sticky i think at it as an organic synthesis of the news reported over differents topics that speak about a certain argument, reporting only to the end of the references to the topic from which these informations was present.

Yes, exactly my point. Posts about things like pyrethrin, spinosad, azadirachtin, sulfur, copper strips, soaps, sticky traps etc. would end up being spread across both subforums.

A subforum specifically for living biological agents could work though: Wasps, lady bugs, bacteria, viruses, carnivorous plants etc.

But on the above case scenario is sufficient move that topics on the more specific subforum ...

Interesting the idea about carnivorous plants even on this forum ... though I think could be more an indirect form of aid especially from plants put on the garden respect plants put on separate pots.
