Default Finally! An Outside Summer Setup!

Well... much as I love having my babies inside... I needed an outside shade house. I'm going to Germany for a little over 2 weeks next month, and I don't want to have to rely on people to take care of the orchids for me (I have 25 and it's enough of a challenge for me!) So I thought, Hey! I should put them outside!

Then the question was what to use to construct the shade house. This took a lot of thinking, as I am just a girl living by myself without a ton of time, and no handy big strong man to build things for me

I went in to work one day and was talking to my friend about it, and she said she had an old cloth gazebo top that I could have if I wanted. The frame had busted up long ago, but she kept the cloth, because it was still good, and lets in dappled light, and it may come in handy... and it did! Then yesterday as I was shopping at Canadian Tire for a manual push mower, I saw a pretty "little" arbor on display. I went to go look at the price, and it was on sale! (not terribly cheap... but a lot cheaper than it was ) And it was easy to assemble! I also got a sprinkler hose to put up, so that on a timer, it will water the orchids every day. Will test that later in the week.

But anyway! this is my summer set up. And what's nice, is that I can pull the shade down when I need to

edit: Oh.. it looks like it's leaning because my yard slopes. Gotta have the drainage!
