Funny that yours does better mounted, even in a mix of bark+sphag I have trouble keeping up with watering!

In a bark/sphag mix I'm watering 2 times a week, which is fine by me. When it was in straight bark, I was watering nearly every day...

Well I water either daily or every other day (sometimes goes three) but I know I can do that without worrying about overwatering.
I don't do well with ones that need plenty of water potted... because I constantly worry I'm rotting them. For me mounted and watering daily is easier because I don't have to worry.
I was under-watering this in bark as a result of worrying about over-watering

Following a discussion here I've moved mine into a brighter spot along with my Milt spectabilis from another project. Not much sun in the UK just now but I've got to try and the Milt is turning more yellow so there must be more light despite the weather.

I despair ever seeing the sun again... Non stop rain yesterday, and today is another gloomy day, though no rain. Yet. Maybe I'll sneak my Max into my greenhouse compartment at work and tuck it in among my wild mustard plants. 22C, 70% humidity, and MH lamps kick in on cloudy days. Sounds perfect.

Fingers crossed, I think I *might* have a spike! Although with my luck it's doing the same as the last false positive, which turned out to be a late growth spike coming from an unusual spot.
