Lycaste Strawberry Fizz Male
Default Lycaste Strawberry Fizz

Purchased A couple of years ago from Suwada Orchids at the Shore Orchid Festival here in New Jersey. Parents are tricolor and Shoalhaven. Has a pleasant, powdery/musky fragrance. No stakes!

What a "neat" growing habit.

Lovely and lovely photo.

Awesome. I have just got myself a much sought after Lycaste skinneri and I was shocked by how small it is. It will be blooming sized maybe next year but it is just so small. I always though that they were huge plants with long tall leaves but looking at yours maybe they aren't?

Thanks for your comments!

Susie11 - If the leaves are not fully expanded, it may not look like much. Those leaves just starting behind the flowers will get quite large by the end of Summer.

That's great to know. I was wondering how long I would have to wait for flowers but now after seeing yours I think that maybe it will not be as long as I thought. My leaves are not grown yet so I shall look forward to that. Thanks alot for your help.

Those are fantastic--and no stakes?! Even better as it saves you the hassle of arranging every bloom. I like the more subtle colors in the first photograph. Congrats on a great blooming.
