Hi. I am a fairly new grower but the addiction has already started. I have had orchids for eight years but only started growing them for five. The orchids that grow best for me are Phrags and Encyclias. I usually buy orchid that are in spike or bloom so I can get enjoyment from them in case they die. I have been fortunate to get to know some growers who have helped me. I love Schoms and Schombocats(now known as Myc and Laelia). I have been trying to grow Catts with some success. I like habenarias, too. And if course Phals which got me started. Dens hate me.
I live in Central Florida in microclimate zone 11. I am growing outside at the present time. In process of building a spa where I can protect them.
Looking forward to being on this forum to learn. I am 56 years old so I have gotten a really late start. So I try to buy larger plants so I might get a specimen one day.
