New Member and Orchids in 3D
Hello everyone!
I have been using Orchid Board as my go-to orchid resource for quite a while and thought that it might be time to join.
I grow (/kill) mostly Paphs and Phals, and last September I switched most of them into S/H. They all really seemed to like it, and now a few of them are starting to bloom, so I thought maybe I'd share.
...and then, I was fooling around at work last week and figured out how to make stereoscopic images that you can see in 3D, and I thought, "What could be better than 3D photos of orchids!?"
So, now that I finally have something to share with you guys, here's the address for my small collection 3-D orchid photos:

The flowers that have bloomed for me so far are:
Paphiopedilum sukhakulii ('Sheila' x 'Los Osos' AM/AOS)
Phalaenopsis Shu-Long Sun Beauty (A Lowe's hardware rescue)
Phalaenopsis Grosbeak 'Sweet Fragrance'
I don't know how many people know how to see stereoscopic images, so I wrote some brief instructions in the details of the photo set. You could also google something about stereoscopic images and find little tutorials all over the web. If it seems really difficult, keep trying! It's really cool, and once you get it to work a couple of times, it becomes really easy - kind of like riding a bike.
I have a few more plants in spike and in bud that I'm eagerly awaiting to bloom, so hopefully I'll have some more pictures to show sometime in the near future.
