Hello Female
Default Hello

Hi! My name is Samantha and I live in Savannah, Ga. On Valentines Day my husband brought me my first orchid and it was absolutely beautiful. Not being born with a particularly green thumb I have been researching how to properly care for it, and along the way stumbled onto this forum. I think I have been doing pretty well by my orchid, it seems like a happy plant. It is a noid phal that produced nine amazing blooms from one spike. The leaves are a nice deep green and a few days ago a new leaf began ti grow. It is potted in a clear 6'' pot, and I am assuming that it had been in there a while because there are several aerial roots that are hanging over the edge. I am wondering if I need to repot because of this, also the medium it is in worries me-all sphag moss-as it seems this has a tendancy to cause root rot. Any and all advice is more than welcome and I hope to learn alot from all of you!
