Aaron - You are going to love this Phal! I have no doubt!
It's small size is a great space saver and it's form and lip color superb!
Your wife will love your little sweet P(riscilla), too
I have my Phal in fine bark and it's doing great .. I keep an eye on it as it dries out fast (due to the medium) .. so I will water (fertilize) every 3 to 4 days depending on the humidity and temperature ... I am not sure if anyone has this one mounted but .. it might just take to it ...

Guess what guys? I just received mine today from Baldans! I won it last week but the peloric version. I'm really excited! The really exciting part is that it's in bloom and the auction didn't even say that. It's sooo pretty, you guys will love yours. I will post later today.

Gwen and Dorothy, did yours have super long roots? If so is it fine to use a pot that looks unusually large for the plant so the roots have lots of room. Or should I stick with a small pot and try and fit those long roots in it? I think I know the answer but I don't want to kill it. I was thinking of potting it in a coconut chip mix because all my other phals seems to love it. I also got a Phal. equestris 'Gino' peloric. You should see the roots on that one! I think the only way I'm going to fit that in a pot is to put it in a 6" one. Yikes!

Caseydoll, I think Baldan's sends the peloric version in bloom so they and you know it is peloric. The next time it blossoms it might be 'regular'.

It's been a little over a week since those pics were taken and the Zuma is getting close to opening. Hopefully within the next couple of days.

Yep, mine had super long roots too! Be really careful about cracking them. I put mine in a tub to soak and just lightly dunking the plant under the water, cracked most of the roots! Freaked me out.

I ended up just delicately tucking the roots in a way too big pot. It's now starting to establish itself and building vigor but it's taken many months.

These are such great orchids!

Gwen, thanks for the tips. Thats exactly what I just went and did. I soaked them for awhile and still had to put them in a big ole pot. The Zuma looks so stupid because the entire plant was growing at a really odd angle due to it being a keiki I suppose. It's now at a very strange angle in the pot and I still couldn't tuck all the roots in the mix. I hope it'll be okay. My 'Gino' has a spike starting but who knows if it will make it or not due to all the trauma I have put it through. That one wasn't as difficult to wrangle in the pot but it still looks silly in it's 6" pot! Sorry, had to tell my story to someone, my boyfriend only half listens to this stuff.

Me too!! Supposed to be cloudy here all week, that will probably slow down any blossoming!

Bet your plants will do fine. Baldan's plants are so healthy, even if you break a few roots the plant will jump right back.
