D. Aggregatum questions- winter rest and others Female
Default

Hello! I'm new to this forum. I've been growing various orchids on window sills in winter and outside in summer (under high shade from oaks with morning sun) for 5 years or so.

I got a Den aggregatun (lindleyi) at Lowes last fall. After reading its need for winter rest, I didn't water it all winter (no flowers, and very shriveled pbs but I held strong). It spent the summer outside, promptly plumped up and put out new growth. I got it inside and stopped watering it (mid October), and it's now putting out new growth! It's also quite tight in its pot (see photo).
So I have two questions: first, should I water it to help with the new growth? Second, should I repot it now, or wait for the next flush of growth?
Thanks!

Welcome to the Orchid Board!

As written above in this thread, this plant does not get a dry winter rest in habitat. It does not rain, but there is dew almost every night, and the plants are wet and cold much of the time.

Water any Dendrobium making new growth, or you will lose those new growths quickly. Repot when the plant is making new roots.
