I'm in the SF Bay Area but it definitely gets below freezing at night for a few weeks every January so I grow them indoors (plus this way I don't have to worry about black widow spiders or snails getting in the bark). So they didn't very cool at all being grown indoors under lights. This winter I'll put all my orchids that need a cool dry winter rest somewhere like on a shelf with a light in the garage or something.
