Yay!! success at the farmer's market, fresh pears that were growing yesterday and smell really good! i love them with parmesan cheese, Nenella!

Apples - I, too, have a tree, and so much fruit I have to give it away!

lol all this talk of Pears reminded me I have a jar of fresh home made pear jam from my cousins tree in her yard .....

This mornings breakfast is warm biscuits with butter and pear jam ....

pears yummmy...

There is a guy here who makes home brew pear wine from some of his pears he grows..Those trees have the Pears grown into the bottles..He covers up the small fruit with the bottle .The pear grows into the bottle so when he bottles his wine it has a pear in it

really neat looking and very tasty even if low on the % alcohol level more like an apertif

I used bartlett pears and cut the sugar just a bit because the fruit was very ripe.
This simple pie recipe was outstanding!
I'm eating my third slice as I type

Awesome! I'm glad you liked it. Life got in the way and I haven't gotten to it yet, but hopefully this weekend! I'm planning on trying a little cognac in it.
