I do like the black background. . .kinda seems scientific to me. LOL And makes it easier to mix and match photos if you need to group them for a project, say a book.
But I do like the dark green background too. . .maybe a try a little lighter green. I do really like the idea of your using a background that gets darker towards the bottom and lighter at the top.
Edited to add, I would also like a mottled velvety brown background. . .lighter and dark tones of brown along with a darkish cream hue.
Use a lower ISO if you want to reduce noise, shutter speed can be as slow as you need since plants don't move about :P (though you'll need a tripod for this)
Mauro,
This one seems to have less 'substance' (I don't if this word is correct in english) than the first one (http://www.orchidboard.com/community...-estriata.html) but has better shape in petals/sepals. The first has 'Milionária' as parent/grandparent?
Are you going to CPO Orchid Show 23-25/november in the Botanic Garden?

Nope! LP Milionaria imparts a very recognizable shape to the lip, often with a narrow, beautiful white border. Here's how it looks like: Attachment 6728
Yes, I am planning to go to the CPO show, probably Friday morning.

Well, unfortunately I can go only saturday or sunday; maybe in another show we can schedule an meeting! (AOSP summer show 30-nov to 02- dec?)
About the 'Milionária', I never saw this one, except in pics; but I read about it! I went to Porto Alegre in october, and I bought some seedlings of LP, that have been sold as 'Milionária' crosses! Now I know what I can expect!
