Hi Mauro,
Were both of the parents of this cross alba varieties, or just the Cattleya loddigesii? I'm curious because I have the loddigesii alba, but not the briegeri, which I have only seen as yellow. I was considering re-making the cross as it is a beautiful one, and not available in the US. Thanks! :D |

Strictly speaking, this L briegheri is not an alba because it has yellow pigment in it. An alba must have no floral pigment at all (other than green which is from chlorophyll).
However, your L briegheri is 100 times as attractive with the yellow pigment as it would be without. In fact, it is precisely the color it needs to be in order to produce that wonderful Lc Lemon Creme. Carl |
