Default Rhyncholaelia digbyana

A few years back, I would go to H&R Orchids on a fairly regular basis (as I do now!) and I would see this purple, blue and gray mounted plant that was huge and looked an awful lot like a type of Cattleya, but the coloration of plant was all wrong to be a Catt (in my mind). I mean, how many Catts have you seen with gray and blue on the p-bulbs and leaves?? Long story short, I got to talking to one of the owners about it and he ended up selling me this gigantic plant at same price he bought it for ($15!!!!) because he had no use for it. It has bloomed reliably every summer for me each year and this year I had to divide it because the mount was getting soft in the rain. I basically divided it into quarters and you can see the new mount that the one quarter I kept for myself is on. It also had 2 flowers but I snapped one off last night Thanks for lookin! Oh, and the smell at night is WONDERFULL!!!!
