Well, I did it. I ordered mine today from Chadwicks. It is a division, and a little pricey, it was 75 dollars, but shipping it came to 95, but it's totally going to be worth it. I've wanted this one a long time, ever since I say it Odom's and then decided not to buy it after all. And if Chadwick's plants are as fantastic as you all say they are, and I believe you that they are, I may have found a new preferred nursery to buy from.

I justified the three that I recently bought from Let's Talk Plants by saying that they are miniature, and won't take up much space. My understanding of Honky Tonk Woman is that it is quite a larg growing plant, bordering on ginormous, so I don't really have an excuse for that one, except I just REALLY WANTED IT hahahahahahaha

i was looking at Chadwicks and i had to stop...the addiction was gripping me. i saw that there were two of these plants ( i wasn't going to swoop it from you) then i saw the shipping was flat and could include three plants...then i was looking at over $200 so i closed the tab …..

i cant wait to see what you get!!!!

That is a beauty! I do miss collecting those huge Cattleyas, sometimes.

Good for you. Most of what they sell now are divisions so you know you are going to get a blooming size mature plant that has already been well grown. Yup, it's more expensive but you're starting out with a real "no waiting" plant.

It is very robust but takes up much less room than a lot of catts with smaller growths just by its habit. Mine is in a 10 inch pot and there are almost 40 pseudobulbs in there and I'll leave it in that pot for at least another year. They are very thin at the base coming off the rhizome and the fatty part of the growth is 4-5 inches up the growth so it's maybe a bit top-heavy. Unifoliate and the leaf is very thick but grows noticeably upward off the cane before flaring outward. I guess my point is yes it's big but it's growth habit allows it to be compactly grown, if that makes any sense.

Have fun and enjoy! Sometimes it feels good to splurge a little!
