I want to know how long KelpMax, or kelp in general, is active, viable, whatever the term is, after being mixed into water for use.

Will the auxins & cytokinens still be useful a day later?

I know the answer is somewhere in an OB post, but I can't find it.

Cytokinins are more stable than auxins. I would say dilultion doesn't matter, but Ray said that KelpMax has some kind of "preservative". In this case, dilution matters. But if you keep it in dark (auxins, IAA and IBA, are easily broken by exposure to light, it is probably ok. Ray will probably reply with more info.

My general recommendation for organic additives like KelpMax and Inocucor Garden Solution is to mix up only what you'll use in a single application, and make a fresh batch each time. However, I think saving it for a day or two is no issue, as long as you follow Naoki's good recommendations about cool and dark.

KepMax itself, in concentrated form and kept cool and dark, has been shown to have significant levels of auxins, cytokinins, abscisic acid, giberellins and brassinosteriods more than two years after production, so it must be pretty well stabilized.

The samples I was given for evaluation were almost 4 years old, and it still had enough effect that I decided to carry the stuff.

Does anyone know where you can get Kelpmax or the next best thing in Europe?
