Bulbos need high humidity which being kept on a mount can make more difficult. Unless there's something innately toxic in the other plant, or it simply outgrows and strangles the orchid I think that this might be the reason people find the combo difficult to maintain. I think if kept in a proper greenhouse, or some other set up that lets you maintain constant humidity it would grow well. It is a GORGEOUS mount!
