New to orchids and want to learn how to keep them happy and ALIVE!
Someone just gave me a beautiful Pacific Paladium and all the flowers fell off with a week.
No soggy bottom and is indoors in a southern window here in Tampa, Fl. SHould I cut back the flower stem, change window? It is indirect light now.

Welcome and Hello ! Sit back, relax and read postings from some of our members where you can glean precious knowledge on how to care for your orchids based on their wealth of experience...

That south facing window position is ok for your plant...if the flowers are gone then you may cut off the spike to give a message to the plant that it can gather more energy by growing new roots and new leaves to give to a new spike in 4 months or so...

follow the Oncidium culture to care for you plant....and discover a watering/fertilizing regimen depending on the humidity, air circulation and temperature of your room

Thanks! I will follow the protocal for the care and feeding. I cut the stem and hopefully sent a sign to this puppy.
I will post again in a few weeks and will not smother it too much!
