I guess this must be the season for new orchid growth, at least with the Phalaenopsis species. I can't get over how fast some of them are growing. On my first phal, I noticed a swelling at a node on the old main spike in the first week of October. By the first week, something was sticking out of it--a new spike! In just one week, it started showing an accelerated growth rate. Now, on Nov 11th, look at it.
My second phal started spurting forth new growth as well, at the base and on the main spike. New stuff all around...

New shoots off the main spike.

Three existing spike ends suddenly started extending forth.
Anybody else got some nice growth going? If so, show us your spikes!
