Mounting a Phal on driftwood

Hi everyone... I just read an article about some guy who mounted his orchid on some driftwood. Now he lived in hot humid FL, I live in IN.. I don't know if that has much to do with it, but anyways... I am very new to orchids, I have 4 phals. I was just curious how difficult it is to mount a phal on something like driftwood. I think that would be awesome! And if I tried it, how would I water it??? Thanks!!
