Some black spots are normal on certain orchids. Many oncidiums get small "sunspots" when they have enough light, as do some vandas. Here's a picture of a plant with "normal" sunspots.
Danger signs would be mushy/boggy consistency, spreading, thinning of the leaf at the area of the spot, bad smell, etc.
A picture would really help though!!!
Caroline...your pictures are really small, I can't even really see what's going on. Do you have a larger close-up view?
