Ok, we've cleared up the standing water issue so I won't be dwell on it. There is always the issue of the ephemeral nature of orchid flowers. Most do not last forever (actually none do). It may have just been time to drop the flowers and go into the next growth phase. Most have their season, they put on their show and then revert back to growing leaves, roots, or just recovering.

Don't sweat it. Just do a little reading around here and you'll be fine. As you can see, there's no shortage of advice here.
