Does it seem like your rioclarense takes on the onion-like shape sooner than your alata?
Alata is probably a bit older and I had it before the other. Both are producing pbs and leaves but for me an onion-shape is not an outstanding factor. Could just be my culture as well.

I must admit that having a tree full of epiphytic onions has become a bit of an obsession for me
