I was going to say that often you'll see non blooming plants paired with orchids at shows. They tend to be smaller than the orchids and used as space fillers to accentuate the orchids themselves and their flowers. However, it is really up to your own imagination and creativity wen it comes to displays at orchid shows. But anything flowering other than orchid is a big no-no. But for home use, you may not care about the non orchid flowers and sizing guidelines.

Just thought I'd point that out. Not sure if you already knew or cared about that though.

There are some sterile ferns available that might suit the OP. I have an Australian Gem Fern that lives in the same conditions/place (though not in the same pot) as a few of my phals. It's not very compact though. Maybe someone who is more knowledgeable about ferns could point out a few small sterile varieties.

I have an anthurium and a clivia growing with my orchids. Both will grow in the same mix as oncidiums, in my case, fine coconut husk chips.

Hoyas are long and tendrilly but if you put one of the small dome shaped trellis frames on the pot they will quite happily be wrapped around and stay more compact. Hoya 'Bella' is an upright Hoya that is fairly compact and doesn't require a trellis

Moss?
What kinds of moss? I want moss... where can I get moss? What kinds of moss? Lol..
Carnivorous plants? I don't think they could handle they fertilizer regime lol...
I started in the world of carnivores last year... promised myself that if I could keep them alive until next summer I could get more.
I have three fly traps, a tropical pitcher plant, and a temperate pitcher plant...
Everything is going well... but the tropical pitcher isn't producing new pitcher very often and they are very small.. I think I need to increase humidity.
Any how... What kinds of moss? Lol..

I'm digging the idea of African violets... Can they really live using orchids culture?

It's for casual home enjoyment.. I don't want a lot of flowers though.. well non orchid flowers. African violets sounded cool.
I was thinking of mainly mosses and ferns.. or other leafy green things to create contrast..
