Just a quick update. The Max. tenuifolia surprised me yesterday with a totally unexpected flower. The flower buds on these are obviously very different than what I'm used to, hence the surprise. In looking closely, I think there is a second one getting ready to bloom. So far, all I'm getting from the one flower is a very faint spicy scent.

Okay, I'm off to water again. This one is a water hog! It's potted in small bark (Orchiata I think) with a few perlite chunks, in a net pot, so I'm sure that's one reason it dries so quickly.

Doin' way better than me Cheri! I have yet to meet a Maxillaria I can't kill.

I'm not sure I can take any credit for the fact that it has put out a flower and maybe a second one on the way. I've only had it for about three and a half weeks. We'll see how it's doing a year from now.
