I would think that if you soaked the vanda roots, then removed to the wooden basket, it would be fine. I would just wait a week or two first. Just my 2 cents.

You have been a big help. What I want to do is keep it in the pot until it has time to adjust to my conditions. I plan to place the pot into the hanging basket so I can hang it under my lights, where it will eventually hang, after I repot it bare root into the basket.

Today I spent 1/4 tank of gas searching for a place to buy wood baskets. Everyone said I am too early because they are an outdoor item. I didn't find baskets, but I found something else, (which cost WAY too much) to hang my blooming plants on in my living room. My common sense went out the window.......I bought it. I'll take a picture later to post.
