How much does an insect screen affect the light from a window?
Basically, is it worth the effort of taking it off and storing it?

It depends on what you grow, how far from the window and what that window's orientation it is.
I can't say what % effect a screen has but arrange my plants with that in mind.

It's not enough to prevent sunburn in most places.

I would imagine it has no noticeable effect. Probably be better to buy a small lamp that sits above the plants.
