Still haven't heard back but I think her process is she does email first thing in the morning.
As a back-up I sent a separate email to the Apopka facility with my concern and order number asking them if they could follow up on it for me.
We'll see what happens.

She got back to me and said I could add express or two day.

It seemed to me that they are getting either a lot of complaints or returns and they want to do what they can to avoid it

A little update, as this thread hasn't seen activity in a minute.

I received a number of orchids from them for my birthday this year, and the Brassavola Nodosa arrived with loads of black spots which quickly turned two of the leaves yellow and I had to snip them. I've since noticed a few spots on the Dendrobium Farmeri and Brasiliorchis schunkeana that were in the same package. I am super distraught!

For more context: I live in Chicago, and they were shipped in early December. They certainly encountered some stress.

Oh nooooooo
Do you have a prelim diagnosis as to what the culprit is? I am so sorry to hear it.

Gah, I'm not quite experienced enough to make any particularly informed guesses. Here's a photo (I hope...not sure still how to post a photo lol).

I think that looks like cold damage... B. nodosa grows best on the warm side. Cold damage can take awhile to show up.
Looking it up, Den farmeri is also a somewhat warm grower, has a short winter rest period... it may drop some leaves but expect more in the spring. Brasiliorchis (Maxillaria) schunkena is a cooler grower... just keep an eye on that one, still could have received some cold damage. Were those plants shipped with a heat pack? If not, should have been.

oh man, thank you! I was so concerned that I was about to spread something to my existing collection.
They were shipped with a heat pack, yes! Looks like I'll just wait till the spring to order again.

I suspect this is why they are holding all shipping until February

It’s unfortunate for everyone to get damaged plants.
I think Yours, from that photo, will make it but not fun for new plants to be beat up

They're here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The order I placed in late November arrived today and they are nice big, healthy looking plants. All blooming size. I'm also pleased to see that all the Phrag's were packaged in sphagnum and soaked before they left Apopka. Hopefully this has already destressed them from coming up from Ecuador bare root. We all know how Phrag's love their water!

My order consists of:
Catt. trianaei
Phrag. Eumilia Arias (schlimii x kovachii)
Phrag. Hanne Popow (besseae x schlimii)
Phrag. Incan Treasure (kovachii x longifolium)
Phrag. Peruflora's Cirila Alca (kovachii x dalessandroi)
Phrag. QF Maria (lindleyanum x dalessandroi)
Phrag. Saint Ouen (Hanne Popow x besseae)
