Default Ecuagenera stanhopeas?

Has anyone had experience ordering direct home shipments of stanhopeas from Ecuagenera? I know there's at least one other recent thread regarding this vendor, but I am specifically wanting to hear from anyone who's had either a positive or negative experience ordering plants of this genus from Ecuagenera.

Thank you!

Steve

I have purchased 6-8 stans

They arrive in great shape and are easy to rehydrate and grow

Typically they are divisions and they are quite large

I have 4 Stans from Ecuagenera. Threw them in baskets with sphagnum moss and they all seem to be putting out new growths. No flowers though, either because of acclimatizing stress or not getting winter chill or diurnal temperature drops. I don't know. I don't really know what I'm doing in terms of these. But the plants look healthy and came at a pretty good size.

The Stanhopea wardii has little brown dots up and down the veins of the leaves. Not sure if it's fungal or what, but it doesn't seem to be progressing. All 4 plants tested negative for viruses.

I want a tigrina next and I'm done with this genus.

Thank you both for your feedback.

Katsucats, if you're looking for a Stanhopea tigrina you should consider calling Santa Barbara Orchid Estate. They have numerous varieties of tigrina, and depending on what you want to spend, they will probably be able to give you a range of options as far as sizes go.

I have a Stanhopea Wardii from Ecuagenera and I love it. I picked it from them up in Santa Barbara when the pandemic started. The plants were big, strong and healthy. They were bare rooted and packed in sphagnum moss. The roots were great and I immediately potted it and had no issues. The plant flowered in mid summer in less than 5 months when I was growing indoors and then again later this summer when I switched it to outdoors. Its definitely an easy plant and has presented no issues with coastal LA weather typicllly seeing the low 40s to low 80s most of the year. I water it a lot and it gets nearly cymbidium level light.
